This operation is ideal for patients who:

Blepharoplasty is an operation used to re-establish a youthful appearance to the upper eyelid, lower eyelid or both. For every patient, decisions are made on a patient-by-patient basis depending on patient desires and clinical findings. Typically for upper eyelid surgery, excess drooping eyelid skin and bulging fat pads are surgically removed. Surgical scars are hidden within eyelid creases. For lower eyelid surgery, excess skin may or may not need to be removed. Bulging fat pads can be excised or repositioned. Most patients will have same-day surgery, meaning they will be discharged home the same day as the operation. Dr. Platt will discuss the recovery process and establish a follow-up schedule with you.

How it Works

After the procedure you will be monitored in our recovery room for one to two hours, you will be allowed to go home with a friend or relative when you are fully awake and comfortable. We suggest using a cold compress to reduce swelling or bruising. Recovery may take several days to notice the full effects.
Can I exercise afterwards?
You may return to regular exercise after four weeks. We will see you for follow-ups periodically to ensure optimal results.
